Minneapolis River Front

We went down to my other SIL's condo in downtown Mpls. We walked along the river front. It is so fun to play tourist in your own town.. H1 told us all about her field trip to the Mill City museum. She recalled so much, it was like our own little tour guide.
(I didn't have my camera along, only MIL did -so I am showing you some pictures from another website. http://www.movingfreedom.org/)

The kids loved finding one of the 100 dinosaurs from the 2007 Science Museum's 100th anniversary. Dinosaur statues are popping up all over the Twin Cities as part of the Diggin' Dinos summer celebration. http://www.diggindinos.org/

The highlight of the walk for H2 was the lock and dam. We had taken a little jaunt over to St. Paul the other day, and went past the lock and dam and I was explaining to him how it works. So when we got down as far as the dam, it just so happened that two boats were in the lock. So we had to wait until all the water came out. And it was hilarious, once the HUGE doors open... we couldn't even see the boats, because they were so little. A fishing boat and a small family river boat.

We ended with a wonderful walk on the stone arch bridge - you can see the old flour mills is the background (this is another fall picture from movingfreedom.org)

H3 is a budding Johnny stone seed. Where every we are she is so excited to pick up rocks and put them in her pocket and then scatters them at various points of a walk.
