Math the "EZ" way - Addition & Subtraction

I think most of you know already about H1's learning differences - but we went to a Math Class together last night and it WAS GREAT - Last night was addition and subtraction and tonight is multiplication. I was so impressed by the way that she taught it and the methods that she used with the kids, I signed up for it again at another community center so H could take it with her next week - this way we are on the same page with the "tricks" The double, the if, the 9 trick, the clock, the 10 circle, the doogie, the grandma, the unlucky number... it was really clicking with H1...

Then the subtraction came. You remember "Mom, I am a plus girl, I don't do subtraction." I could see her fighting it a little. But she was ok - some tricks I was so surprised at. I mean, I just learned the facts, I didn't need/want the additional cues. But I am all about finding out whatever will work for her.

And this one - for subtraction... you remember the words, bigger, bottom, borrow. That really clicked for H1. She knows how to borrow - but for some reason, she would get a brain freeze looking at it. This gets her over the "freeze".
